Weekly Round-Up: ColourPop x My Little Pony, Becca Glow, Too Faced Unicorn Tears, Bobbi Brown’s Crushes and more

Categories Weekly Round-Up

Weekly Round-Up is a new series of posts I’m starting on GlossOvers where I’ll be compiling the latest releases from lots of different beauty brands. Some people don’t like to follow lots of brand’s Instagrams, sign up to their mailing lists and etc because they don’t want them cluttering up their feed, so I’m here to do the hard work for you!

ColourPop x My Little Pony

ColourPop are collaborating with My Little Pony to bring you this collection of colourful eyeshadows and vibrant lipsticks. I’ve ordered the shadow palette and a few of the lippies and I can’t wait to get mine! I love the quality of ColourPop eyeshadows and I can’t wait to make some eye looks out of these. Get the collection here.

Becca

Becca have combined 4 of their popular skin perfecting powders with 2 new shades; a rouge-pink ‘Winter Berries’ and wintery pearl hue ‘Icicle’. The palette includes three shades of Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter, plus bronzing and blushing hues. They have also taken this face palette and adapted it for the lid, thus creating the Après Ski Glow Collection Eye Lights Palette. It features seven shades in satin matte and metallic shimmer finishes. I’ve never tried out any of Becca’s products, but this might be something to add to my Christmas list!

I really love that Becca have brought out these mini versions of their pressed highlighters.
For makeup junkies like me, I have way too many products that I know I’m never gonna get
through anytime soon. These minis are not only more than 50% cheaper than the original,
but are small and very portable. Good job, Becca!
Too Faced

Too Faced have turned their ‘Unicorn Tears’ lipstick from their La Creme series into a melted latex format. I thought this was an interesting shade when I first saw it as a La Creme option as it was quite sheer. However, I’m not sure how wearable this new design will be. Halloween is coming up this month, so it may be great for that occasion – although, an expensive one.

Additionally, Too Faced have launched ‘peel off’ glitter eyeliner in some very vibrant colours. As cool as this concept sounds, I can already think of a few issues this product might have. My first concern would be it peeling off during the day/night – not a great look! Then, I would imagine these would have to have quite a thick formula for it to be able to peel off easily. Nevertheless, these are just my first thoughts and I would really like to try these out when they’re available in the UK.

Bobbi Brown

Okay crushes, now let's get in formation 📷 @fleurdeforce

Bobbi Brown have released a new series of lipsticks called ‘crushes’. The selling point of these lipsticks are that they’re as pigmented as usual lipsticks but feel like a balm. I really love the packaging on these as the colour matches the lipstick shade; it really makes everything look uniform and tidy. I also really like the colour selection available as they range from dark to light neutrals to pinks and reds.

LORAC

Can't get enough of these sultry satin shades in the most perfect #milennialpink (limited edition) tubes! Snap up this Mod Goddess Alter Ego Satin Lipstick Set Vol. II online at @ultabeauty and loraccosmetics.com. $29 ($90 value!)

Here’s the second edition of LORAC’s Mod Goddess Alter Ego Satin Lipstick set. As the caption describes, these shades are definitely sultry! I love the pink tubes but my only gripe would be the thickness of the container. I prefer slimmer packaging for portability and storage purposes. Nevertheless, these shades are all very pretty!

The Mega Pro 4 has arrived! This palette includes a series of more lighter shades in an array of colours. Personally, I don’t wear many green or grey shades so I’m not sure if I am too enthusiastic about the colour selection. I appreciate that the palette includes lots of matte shades though, I really don’t like palettes where the majority of the shades are shimmery.

Anastasia Beverly Hills

Anastasia have released a new eyeshadow palette yet again – let’s hope another drama doesn’t follow. This palette contains some very interesting shades where I think you’d be able to create many looks from. Although I said before that I don’t wear green shades, this palette really catches my eye and makes me want to try some looks out! This palette definitely isn’t for those who enjoy a more neutral look.

Sigma

Sigma have brought out a new limited edition collection but I’m not sure I’d go crazy about it. The eyeshadow palette contains a variety of bright shades but I have an issue about palettes like these. I always feel like there’s too many colour options and you’ll always need another palette to create a full look – if you’re not going for a ‘wild’ look that is. Generally, I think these palettes don’t cater to the majority.

Kat Von D

Kat Von D have teased a new palette on their Instagram called ‘Metal Crush’. From the packaging I can probably guess that it’s going to contain some ‘glam’ shades with lots of glitter!

Makeup Revolution

Makeup Revolution have released their Flawless 4 eyeshadow palette and I’m loving the look of it! I’ve heard good things about Makeup Revolution eyeshadows, so I’ve ordered this one and am waiting for it to arrive. I really love the colours on this palette and hope they are pigmented and blendable.

Makeup Revolution have also added 4 new shades to their strobe highlighter collection. These highlighters don’t have the best reviews on their retailer’s website, so I think I’m going to give these a miss.

Sleek

I have to say, I was quite excited when I saw this post on Instagram. Sleek have released some liquid eyeshadows in some very exciting colours. I really love my Lid Lingerie Eye Tints from NYX but always longed for a wider colour range. I hope these give the same result!

Conclusion

This week concludes with a lot of eyeshadow releases! What I really like the most, is that none of these eyeshadow palettes look similar – they’re all unique. The two that have caught my eye the most are the Flawless 4 from Makeup Revolution and Prism from Anastasia Beverly Hills. My Flawless 4 should be arriving this upcoming week and I’ll be sure to update you on how it performs. Additionally, I’m equally excited to pick up a few shades from Sleek’s i-Art Precision Liquid Eye Colour range. Altogether, I’m very impressed with this week’s new releases and had a lot of fun writing this!
